JJEI consists of two divergent areas: Real Estate and Lighting:
JJEI Real Estate started with commercial real estate more than 47 years ago. Over time, after marrying Anne, additional rental housing properties were added to the mix. In the last five years JJEI Real Estate development was part of the LLC which developed the 5^th on 5^th Apartment Complex in Rochester along with the Nicholas and Oliver apartment complexes. Currently we are involved in an exciting Pine Island, Minnesota apartment complex which will consist of more than 30 gorgeous apartments over underground parking each of which will feature luxury amenities such as washer/dryer in each unit, individual HVAC, modern stainless steel appliances, ice makers, dishwashers, ceiling fans, granite counter tops etc.
JJEI Lighting has more than 45 years of experience with specialty lighting and has been in commercial lighting for nearly 30 years. We have experience with projects of all scopes and sizes ranging from the sale of a single light bulb all the way up to simultaneously retrofitting all of the public buildings of a large city in Minnesota.
We originally started in commercial lighting by changing incandescent lights to fluorescent and inefficient F40 T-12 lamps over to the low wattage F34 T-12. Shortly after that, we began retrofitting T-12 fixtures to the much more efficient T-8 technologies. Currently many of the fluorescent technologies are now being retrofitted to the LED which gives both longer life and even greater electrical savings. Since then our business has expanded into analyses, retrofit kits, fixtures, engineering, LEDs, etc.
